Did you ever think that fixing things was a gift? I believe it is. My dear husband has it. Like our girls like to sing, "fixing things, fixing things, Daddy is always fixing things." When a plate would break or my there would be a whole in a sock, Sarah would say, "Oh, Daddy would fix it".
So many young people I know and see around don't know how to do anything manly. I see them walking down the street with pants waists down their knees with a young girl. And you just think, "young man, don't waist your youthful years." When fathers could be teaching these boys so many things about life through work, they're just being dumbed down in the public school system, waisting time.
We anticipate for our little man to grow up and Daddy teach him all kinds of things. I've never seen someone do so much of everything in so little time and resources. As we've trying to sale our house, we pulled it our out of the market to do a few upgrades. Here is what my DH adventured to do on his own with some help at times but mostly alone:
Replaced a brand new roof: The hardest job to do by far. We have deep appreciation for those men who work doing this everyday.

He replaced our linolium bathroom floors with tile and learned on the job. Funny, someone at Home Depot asked him to do their tile floors.
He completely remodeled our kitchen: painted the cabinets a beautiful red color. He got a $2,000 stove for $100 because the burners didn't work. He brought it home cleaned it and fixed the burners. It looks like new. We replaced our cheap appliances, our free rotting refrigerator for a nice stainless steel and dishwashwer. We just swaped. We didn't spend any money because I sold them and bought used stainless steel with that money.
He did all our laminate floors. They are perfectly beautiful.
He did recessed lighting in the kitchen and added a couple of nice breakfast bar lights and under the counter lights.
He replaced our kitchen sink.
He painted the whole house. Our house looks and feels like new. Did you know men are such perfectionists when they're painting or doing these kind of things?
He fixes sprinkleres, pluming, electrical.
One time, towards the end of all the remodel, someone wanted to come see the house but our kitchen floor had been ruined by water. So it was all torn apart. We had no kitchen. It was all a mess, no refrigerator or dishwasher. Well it was only 2-3 hours for this people to show up and he set to work as fast as he could. Everybody did. The girls were such great helpers too. And when the doorbell rang, it was perfect timing. We dragged the few things left in to the garage. He has put the floor in the kitchen, brought the refrigerator, put in the dishwasher and I cleaned the kitchen and all around the house.
Once he fixed my laptop by taking apart and inserting a guitar pick. Now my laptop runs faster, go figure!!
During the house remodeling work. He would buy and fix and sale cars from the auctions. He got this little car that needed new paint in the hood. He sanded it by hand and spray painted it. Wow, lots of work. This was not fun and he said, he won't do that again. Here it is for the memory and humor of it:

He put in new stereos, did mechanical work in other cars he sold.
In the early mornings on a side he has also been learning the stock market and making a few hundreds here and there.
When ever he could squeeze time, he would work on game designing and inverstor presentations.
There there is the wife and the children to love. In the middle of it all, he always found time to smile and go down on the floor with the little ones.
Fantastic time of learning all kids of lessons. Aside from Do's and Don'ts there is the lesson of "do all things as unto the Lord, and not to men."
What would I do without a husband like him. I'm humbly blessed.
After all the hard work, here are some pictures of our lovely home
